Little Red Riding Hood

ila was a little girl. Her mother loved her without memory, and her grandmother even more. For her granddaughter's birthday, her grandmother gave her a red cap. Since then, the girl went everywhere in it. Neighbors said this about her:

Here comes Little Red Riding Hood!

Once mom baked a pie and said to her daughter:

Go, Little Red Riding Hood, to your grandmother, bring her a pie and a pot of butter and find out if she is healthy.

Little Red Riding Hood got ready and went to her grandmother.

She goes through the forest, and towards her is a gray wolf.

Where are you going. Little Red Riding Hood? - asks the Wolf.

I go to my grandmother and bring her a pie and a pot of butter.

How far does your grandmother live?

Far away, - replies Little Red Riding Hood. - Over there in that village, behind the mill, in the first house from the edge.

Okay, Wolf says, I also want to visit your grandmother. I'll go down this road, and you go down that one. Let's see which one of us comes first.

The Wolf said this and ran, which was in his spirit, along the shortest path.

And Little Red Riding Hood went along the longest road. She walked slowly, stopping along the way, picking flowers and collecting them in bouquets. Before she had even reached the mill, the Wolf had already galloped up to her grandmother's house and was knocking on the door:
Knock Knock!

Who's there? - asks the grandmother.

It's me, your granddaughter, Little Red Riding Hood, - the Wolf answers, - I came to visit you, I brought a pie and a pot of butter.

Grandmother was sick at the time and was in bed. She thought that it really was Little Red Riding Hood, and she called out:

Pull the string, my child, and the door will open!

The wolf pulled the rope - the door opened.

The wolf rushed at the grandmother and swallowed her at once. He was very hungry because he had not eaten anything for three days. Then he closed the door, lay down on his grandmother's bed and began to wait for Little Red Riding Hood.

Soon she came and knocked:
Knock Knock!

Little Red Riding Hood was frightened, but then she thought that her grandmother was hoarse from a cold, and answered:

It's me, your granddaughter. I brought you a pie and a pot of butter!

The wolf cleared his throat and said more subtly:

Pull the string, my child, and the door will open.

Little Red Riding Hood pulled the rope-door and opened it. The girl entered the house, and the Wolf hid under the covers and said:

Put the pie on the table, granddaughter, put the pot on the shelf, and lie down next to me!

Little Red Riding Hood lay down next to the Wolf and asked:

Grandma, why do you have such big hands?

This is to hug you tighter, my child.

Grandma, why do you have such big ears?

To hear better, my child.

Grandma, why do you have such big eyes?

To see better, my child.

Grandma, why do you have such big teeth?

Once upon a time there was a girl who for some reason did not like to walk in a straight and short way. She always chose the longest and most winding road. And if her mother sent her somewhere on an errand, then she had to wait a very long time. The girl could spend hours wandering around the surrounding meadows and forests, picking flowers and berries and singing songs. And she loved to talk to everyone who met her on the way, even complete strangers. And it often happened that she returned home only when it was getting dark.

But the mother did not scold her daughter, who, although she never took a shortcut, was a kind, affable and courteous girl. However, she was very worried that the girl might get lost and no one would find her. Therefore, the grandmother gave her granddaughter a red cap so that she could be seen even from afar. And soon everyone, even mother and grandmother, began to call the girl Little Red Riding Hood.

Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother lived on the other side of the forest, through which a long winding path led to her house. Every week, Little Red Riding Hood and her mother visited her grandmother and brought her a basket of gifts. Grandmother loved her lovely granddaughter very much and every time she looked forward to her, sitting by the window, and, as soon as she saw her, waved her hand happily.

But one day my grandmother fell ill, and it was necessary to urgently bring her a tincture of wild berries. Little Red Riding Hood's mother was very busy with housework and could not visit her grandmother herself. And she was afraid to send Little Red Riding Hood alone. Surely the girl will turn off the path, begin to pick flowers and forget about everything in the world. What if she does not have time to get to her grandmother's house before dark? After all, at night no one will see her red cap, and she will get lost in the forest thicket.

What to do? Grandmother was very sick, and only a tincture of wild berries could cure her. Then my mother decided to go to the trick. She called Little Red Riding Hood and said:

“Listen, Little Red Riding Hood, you will go alone to your grandmother today. The girl clapped her hands in joy.

“But first I have to tell you something terrible. Know that an evil wolf has appeared in our district.

She looked at Little Red Riding Hood, was she scared?

- Wolf? Little Red Riding Hood was surprised. - And who is this?

- Silly, this is a terrible beast. He roams the dark forest looking for little girls who don't take shortcuts.

Little Red Riding Hood was seriously scared.

“But you can easily avoid meeting him,” Mom said, “follow the path and don’t turn anywhere.” And most importantly - do not stop anywhere and with anyone.

“Then I won’t go alone,” the girl whispered in fear.

“But someone has to take a tincture of wild berries to a sick grandmother, and I can’t tear myself away from work today. Do not be afraid. If you do everything as I told you, you have nothing to fear from the wolf.

Little Red Riding Hood obediently took the basket where her mother put the wild berry tincture, a jar of jam and a plum pie, and sighed. The girl loved her grandmother very much, and her illness upset her, but she did not at all want to go alone through the forest, where the evil wolf roamed.

Little Red Riding Hood quickly, trying not to look around, went along the forest path. Very beautiful flowers grew all around, but she did not even look at them. The day was wonderful. Birds fluttered from branch to branch and wondered why this little friend did not even notice them. And Little Red Riding Hood was not up to them. She walked and said to herself: “It’s not far, it remains to go just a little bit.” But what is that blushing there by the path? What a ripe strawberry! Little Red Riding Hood was about to pass by, but remembered that her mother had not said anything about strawberries. The girl stopped, leaned over and picked one berry from a bush. Nothing bad happened. The wolf was nowhere to be seen. Only the birds continued to sing in the tops of the trees and the flowers swayed in the green grass. Little Red Riding Hood has never eaten such sweet strawberries. It is a pity that only one berry grew here.

Oh, No! Stepping aside, Little Red Riding Hood found another strawberry bush, then a second, then a third.

The girl completely forgot about her fear and about the evil wolf. Gathering ripe and sweet berries, she went further and further into the forest.

“Hello, girl,” she suddenly heard behind her.

Little Red Riding Hood turned around and saw a shaggy, but quite good-natured looking creature.

“Oh, how you scared me. I already thought that you were that terrible wolf.

The wolf chuckled to himself. It has never happened before that someone did not recognize him.

What a wolf I am! I'm just a humble forest dweller. Where are you going with this basket?

– I am in a hurry to visit my grandmother. She's sick and I have to take the medicine to her.

The wolf, who at first wanted to immediately eat the girl, suddenly changed his mind.

- And where does your esteemed grandmother live?

- Right behind the forest, where the path ends.

As soon as she said this, the wolf disappeared behind the trees and ran straight to the grandmother's house.

Little Red Riding Hood was a little surprised that the shaggy gentleman left without saying goodbye, but she did not have time to think.

Remembering her mother's order, she found a path and, timidly looking around, walked on.

Meanwhile, the wolf, which had run straight through the forest, ran to the grandmother's house and knocked three times.

- It's me, your granddaughter Little Red Riding Hood, - answered the Wolf.

- Come in, baby.

The wolf burst into the house and, before the grandmother had time to come to her senses, swallowed her in an instant. Then he put on his grandmother's cap, lay down on her bed and pulled the blanket over his ears. Soon Little Red Riding Hood came up to the house and, suspecting nothing, knocked on the door.

- Grandma, it's me, your Little Red Riding Hood! I brought you a wild berry tincture, jam and a pie.

“Of course it’s rude, because I’m sick,” the Wolf croaked. “Come closer, my child.

Little Red Riding Hood put the basket of goodies on the floor and timidly approached. Grandma looked very strange today.

- Oh, grandmother, what big hands you have!

The wolf quickly hid his shaggy paws under the covers.

- This is to hug you tighter, Little Red Riding Hood! Come closer.

“But Grandma, why do you have such big ears?”

“To hear you better, Little Red Riding Hood. Well, sit next to me.

– Oh, grandmother, why do you have such big eyes?

“To see you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” the Wolf muttered impatiently.

“Oh, grandma,” cried Little Red Riding Hood, backing away, “why do you have such big teeth?

- To eat you soon! - Wolf growled, jumped out from under the feather bed, snapped his teeth and swallowed the girl along with her red cap. Then he lay back on the bed and snored.

Fortunately, a forester passed by. He already noticed from a distance that something was wrong: the doors of the house were wide open, and loud snoring could be heard from there. The forester removed the double-barreled shotgun from his shoulder and crept up to the window. He almost screamed when he saw a wolf lying on his grandmother's bed with a swollen belly. Without hesitation, the forester ran into the house, pulled out a hunting knife from his belt and instantly cut open the belly of the wolf. Little Red Riding Hood jumped out of there, followed by Grandma. Oh, how dark it was in the belly of the wolf! It’s scary to even think what would have happened if the brave and resourceful forester had not come on time.

Since then they lived happily. There were no more evil wolves in the forest, and one could walk along the path without fear of anyone. Little Red Riding Hood could now stop as much as she liked along the way and even walk in the dark forest. However, now she did not do this anymore: from that time on, she always took the shortest route.

There lived - there was a little girl in one village, so pretty that she was better than her in the world. Her mother loved her without memory, and her grandmother even more.

For her birthday, her grandmother gave her a red cap. Since then, the girl went everywhere in her new, elegant red cap.

Neighbors said this about her:

He really wanted to eat Little Red Riding Hood, but he didn’t dare - somewhere nearby, woodcutters were banging with axes. The wolf licked his lips and asked the girl:

Where are you going, Little Red Riding Hood?

And Little Red Riding Hood did not yet know how dangerous it was to stop in the forest and talk to the wolves. She greeted the wolf and said:

I go to my grandmother and bring her this pie and a pot of butter.

How far does your grandmother live? the wolf asks.

Pretty far, - answers Little Red Riding Hood. - Over there in that village, behind the mill, in the first house on the edge.

Little Red Riding Hood pulled the string - the door opened. The girl entered the house, and the Wolf hid under the covers and said:

Little Red Riding Hood lay down next to the Wolf and asked:

To hear better, my child.

To see better, my child.

Grandma, why do you have such big teeth?

And this is to eat you sooner, my child!

Before Little Red Riding Hood had time to gasp, the Wolf rushed at her and swallowed her along with her shoes and the little red cap.

But, fortunately, at that very time, woodcutters with axes on their shoulders were passing by the house.

They heard a noise, ran into the house and killed the Wolf. And then they ripped open his belly, and Little Red Riding Hood came out, followed by her grandmother - both safe and sound.

Zhila was a little, sweet girl. And whoever looked at her, everyone liked her, but her grandmother loved her more than anyone and was ready to give her everything. So she once gave her a cap of red velvet, and because this cap suited her very well and she did not want to wear any other, they called her Little Red Riding Hood.

One day her mother says to her:

Little Red Riding Hood, here is a piece of cake and a bottle of wine, go take it to your grandmother; she is sick and weak, let her get better. Get out of the house early, while it's not hot, but look, go modestly, as you should; don’t turn aside from the road, otherwise you’ll fall and break the bottle, then grandmother won’t get anything. And when you enter her room, do not forget to say hello to her, and not just to look here and there in all corners.

I can handle it properly, - Little Red Riding Hood answered her mother and said goodbye to her.

And my grandmother lived in the forest itself, half an hour walk from the village will be. As soon as Little Red Riding Hood entered the forest, a wolf met her. And Little Red Riding Hood did not know what a furious beast it was, and was not at all afraid of him.

Hello Little Red Riding Hood! - said the wolf.

Thank you wolf for your kind words.

Where are you, Little Red Riding Hood, going so early?

To Grandma.

What is that in your apron?

Wine and a pie, we baked it yesterday, we want to please my grandmother with something, she is sick and weak, let her get better.

Little Red Riding Hood, where does your grandmother live?

“Nice girl,” the wolf thought to himself, “a tasty piece would be for me; tastier, perhaps, than the old woman; but in order to seize both, it is necessary to lead the matter cunningly.

And he went next to Little Red Riding Hood and said:

Little Red Riding Hood, look around, what beautiful flowers are around, why don't you look around? Can't you hear the beautiful birds singing? You walk as if you are in a hurry to go to school - and what a fun time to spend in the forest!

Little Red Riding Hood looked and saw how they were dancing everywhere, making their way through the trees, the sun's rays and everything around in beautiful colors, and thought: “It would be nice to bring grandmother a fresh bouquet of flowers - it will probably please her too; It's still early, I'll be there on time."

And she turned off the road straight into the thicket and began to pick flowers. He picks a flower and thinks: “And then it grows even more beautiful,” and he will run to that; and so she went deeper and deeper into the forest. Meanwhile, the wolf rushed straight to the grandmother's house and knocked on the door.

Who's there?

It's me, Little Red Riding Hood, who brought you wine and cake, open it for me.

And you press the latch, - grandmother shouted, - I am very weak, I can’t get up.

The wolf pressed the latch, the door quickly opened, and, without saying a word, he went straight to the grandmother's bed and swallowed the old woman. Then he put on her dress, a cap on her head, got into bed and pulled the curtains.

And Little Red Riding Hood was picking all the flowers, and when she had already picked up so many of them that she could no longer bear, she remembered her grandmother and went to her. She was surprised that the door was wide open, and when she entered the room, everything seemed so strange to her, and she thought: “Oh, my God, how scared I am here today, and yet I always visited my grandmother with such a desire!” And she called:

Good morning! - but there was no answer.

Then she went up to the bed, parted the canopy, saw - grandmother was lying, the cap was pulled down on her very face, and she looked so strange, strange.

Oh, grandmother, why do you have such big ears?

To hear you better!

Oh, grandma, what big eyes you have!

This is to see you better!

Oh, grandma, why do you have such big hands?

To make it easier to grab you!

Oh, grandmother, what a terribly big mouth you have!

This is to make it easier to swallow you!

As soon as the wolf said this, and as he jumped out of bed - and swallowed poor Little Red Riding Hood.

The wolf ate and lay down again in bed, fell asleep and began to snore loudly, very loudly. And at that time a hunter was passing by the house and thought: “However, how much the old woman snores, I’ll have to see, maybe she needs something to help.” And he entered her room, went to the bed, looking - and there the wolf lies.

Ah! There you are, you old sinner! - he said. - I've been looking for you for a long time.

And he was about to point his gun at him, but he thought that the wolf might have eaten his grandmother, but she could still be saved; he did not shoot, but took scissors and began to rip open the belly of the sleeping wolf. He made several incisions, he saw that the little red cap was showing through, he cut more, and a girl jumped out of there and screamed:

Oh, how scared I was, how dark it was in the belly of the wolf!

Then the old grandmother got out of there, alive and well, - she could hardly catch her breath. And Little Red Riding Hood quickly brought large stones, and they stuffed the belly of the wolf with them. Then he woke up, he wanted to run away, but the stones were so heavy that he immediately fell - and then his end came.

And all three were very, very happy. The hunter removed the skin from the wolf and carried it home. Grandmother ate the cake, drank the wine that Little Red Riding Hood brought her, and began to get better and gain strength, and Little Red Riding Hood thought: "From now on, I will never turn off the highway alone in the forest without mother's permission."

They also say that once, when Little Red Riding Hood was again carrying a pie to her grandmother, another wolf spoke to her and wanted to take her away from the main road. But Little Red Riding Hood was now more careful and went straight on her way, and told her grandmother that a wolf met her on the way and said "hello" and looked at her with his eyes so angrily that if it had not happened on the road, he would have eaten her.

So that's what, - Grandmother said to Little Red Riding Hood, - let's lock the door so that he can't enter here.

And then soon the wolf knocked and said:

Grandma, unlock it for me, I'm Little Red Riding Hood, I brought you a cake.

And they are silent, the door does not open. Then the gray one walked stealthily around the house several times, then jumped onto the roof and began to wait until Little Red Riding Hood began to return home in the evening: he wanted to follow her and eat her in the dark. But the grandmother guessed what the wolf was up to. And they had a large stone trough in front of their house; Grandmother says to her granddaughter:

Little Red Riding Hood, take a bucket - yesterday I cooked sausage in it - and pour water into the trough.

Little Red Riding Hood began to carry water until the big, big trough was filled to the brim. And the wolf smelled the smell of sausage, turned his nose, looked down and, finally, stretched his neck so that he could not resist and rolled from the roof and fell down, but right into a large trough, and he drowned in it.

And Little Red Riding Hood returned home happily, and no one has offended her since that time.

But, fortunately, at that very time, woodcutters with axes on their shoulders were passing by the house.

They heard a noise, ran into the house and killed the Wolf. And then they cut open his belly, and Little Red Riding Hood came out, and behind her and grandmother - both whole and unharmed.
